Benno is a dubbel ale; a dark, malty beer brewed with twice the amount of malt as a standard Belgian ale. Pouring a copper colour, Engelszell Benno Trappistenbier offers up dense, fruity aromas of apple, raisin, banana and caramel malts. The flavour is honey-sweet, with stone fruits and a spicy character from the Belgian yeast.
Engelszell Benno Trappistenbier is an authentic Trappist dubbel ale from Austrian brewery, Stift Engelszell. Engelszell Abbey was authenticated by the International Trappist Association in 2012, and at the time was only the second brewery outside Belgium to be given accredited Trappist status.
